Mai Otome, or Mai ZHiME, is the sequel of the quite succesful story Mai HiME. The anime centers around Yumemiya Arika, who enters Garderobe with the wish to become an Otome. Otome are young girls who are trained to one day protect the royal leaders throughout the lands. Arika leads a happy life with her friends, but little does she know that she's involved with a war that occured 14 years ago.. and consequences from it we still see today. With happy, sad, angsty and exciting events, Mai Otome is a serie you can't miss out on.

I love the music from this series. I think a lot of the songs fits the mood of the anime, but they are very nice to hear without having seen the show as well. The music background was composed by the talented Kajiura Yuki, who also did the music for Mai Hime, Tsubasa Chronicle, Wolf's Rain and others, while the two openings were both done by Kuribayashi Minami and the ending theme by Koshimizu Ami & Kikuchi Mika.
